December Event Styling

Our last event for 2012 was an event styling
for the wedding of a sweet couple Salihah and Mazlan.
The bride wanted a picnic themed wedding
which would be oh-so-gorgeous had it been at a garden.
But the weather wasn't permitting during that rainy season,
and so a semi-indoor venue was our next best bet.

So after much site assessment (and many ensuing discussions), we decided to style the event
with a mix of calmness, romance, class and fun.
It was slated to display elements of a fun, relaxing and calming picnic style,
yet appear romantic and classy enough for a wedding affair.

We got brave, mixing props like baskets, burlap, glass bottles, buntings and checkereds...
with gold stained frames (which we insisted on flying in from london), fine linen,
the uber classy napolean chairs (which TWC so kindly offered to loan us) and fine china.
Our fresh flora was a mix of classy blooms like peonies, bouvardias, freesias etc...
with casual fruits like lemons, green apples, grapes and strawberries.
Oh and dont mention it, of course we had jam and popcorn too! :)

We dressed up every single guest table, with greatest attention to details, cos we believe a wedding is an intimate celebration to be enjoyed and cherished by all guests. And in this light, in the future, we hope to work with credible caterers who could align with this philosophy and work hand in hand with us to create a harmonized look throughout.
Every table was different.

To elicit that relaxed and calm style, we took a chance with a cozy white sofa which would otherwise never have made it to any wedding dais. The bride also wanted an unplatformed dais for a more intimate feel...where she and her groom could mingle with family and friends. This wasnt something new for us, cos we've been known to be avant garde about having 'daises' which blend in and assimilate with the whole event floor. Yet with all the simple and relaxed feel this dais could muster, we strove to work fine details into it to make it look substantial and wedding worthy. We're especially delighted that the couple and their family loved this idea of intimate wedding, steering away from the typical 'Raja Permaisuri sehari' (i.e King and Queen for the day) concept. It was challenging cos there was a fine line between creating a relaxed but classy wedding worthy look and an unsubstantial 'party' look. We were told we nailed it, and so we're encouraged to create more new concepts.

The couple's table...

An intimate and personal event floor. And the napolean chairs were a given. (TWC introduced the chiavaris into the Singapore wedding scene years ago. The chiavaris have since become too common and sometimes even subjected to visual disharmony. Now their napolean will add to a new flavour...)

At the end of the celebration, close relatives and friends were only too happy to get all the fresh flowers and fruits we've lovingly set aside for them

As always, kudos to our awesome team members! You guys rock! :)
We'd also like to thank our good friend Hairi for dropping by and lending us his muscles, as well as giving us moral support and encouragement, as always... :)

  1. Gorgeous setting. And you totally nailed it with the 'feel' that you aimed for. Feels a little like 'shabby chic' with whimsical undertones. Kudos!
